UKG Employee

"The company's marketing paints a vibrant picture, but in reality, it lacks a positive culture, team cohesion, and departmental events. Trust in upper management is low, and lower-level managers have limited decision-making authority and minimal budgets. Prior to recent layoffs, a significant number of employees had already left, resulting in knowledge gaps and daily inquiries about basic tasks. UKG was formed through the merger of Ultimate Software and Kronos, and this year saw two rounds of layoffs attributed to the merger. Long-standing employees, some with vital skills and qualifications, were let go suddenly, without prior notice. Management had promised priority consideration for internal job applications but failed to inform the affected employees. Chris Todd's management team appears quick to discard employees they deem expendable, with important decisions centralized in their hands. Job security and recognition for hard work are scarce, as cost-cutting takes precedence, and employees risk replacement once management believes they can find alternatives. This workplace is not suitable if you value job security, career advancement, transparent intentions by management. The company's transformation is disheartening, as the legacy of Kronos and Ultimate Software erodes under new management. The workplace is no longer one where people envision retiring; instead, they are fleeing. In hindsight, giving this management team a chance to complete the merger, trusting in management's no-layoffs promise, and staying without actively seeking new opportunities were mistakes. Run from this company!"

"I worked here before the merger with Kronos back when it was Ultimate Software Group. I was in the Customer Support department and worked there until April 2021. This company loves to boast and brag, and is only about image. They tout benefits when offering a job or being interviewed by an industry publication, but in reality those benefits are only offered to a select few within the company. They do not treat their employees like people and will constantly ignore real life needs of their employees while demanding more and more time be spent on work. Work/Life balance is non-existent if you're anything less than a senior manager. Management is driven by profit alone, and is always on the side of higher-ups rather than supporting their teams. They hire virtual employees with the promise of office supply stipends, then have some excuse why they won't pay all while faulting you for not being properly setup. They offer Unlimited PTO but with insane restrictions and blackout dates that make it near impossible to use. They shuffle as much work as possible down to the bottom of the chain, and the biggest culture aspect of this company is avoiding work. They pay fairly well, but use that as chains to then keep you trapped at a company where you can't find comparable salary offerings but are inundated with such a high workload that it WILL cause health problems (nearly every one of my co-workers had medical or mental duress from this job). Do not fall for the pay and benefits, avoid this company like the plague. If you're Patrick Bateman or some other 1980's jock, frat boy, caricature of a corporate stooge, this just might be the company for you. I have personally seen someone be accused of sexual harassment by multiple co-workers with concrete and recorded evidence, only to then have that person promoted just to move him to another team. This company is cancer."

"I've started working for UKG before it become UKG. I was originally part of ultimate software group and on 2019 Kronos and Ultimate merged under 1 company "UKG". Past couple of years my focus was on access, queue and knowledge management. Overall, the company is a good company but as the company merged there are less opportunities to grow within the company."
