"I started out as a volunteer for the San Diego Supercomputer Center. I was hired to work full-time as a Programmer/Data Analyst because they liked my work. I found it difficult to move up because I do not have a PhD. Unions and state budgets continue to present problems for some departments."

"If you need health insurance, more than a career, you can get it here."
What don't you like about working at UC San Diego?
"Lifers, lots of beauracray, sexist and racist clicks doing quite well (they had a mock lynching which management did nothing about), staff that is dead wood and many unqualified administrators."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Clean house from the very top, re-hire, re-train, There are so many unqualified managers here, it is sad and shameful."
