Senior Project Engineer

"This is a snapshot of one persons opinion as the industry is in total distress."

What do you like about working at Toyota?

"It gave me the opportunity to learn the principles of the Toyota Production System with hands on training courses. I traveled extensively in the US,Canada, China and Japan. There is a huge mix of nationalities and it is fast paced."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Engineering is the most rewarding department with an excellent personable manager."

What don't you like about working at Toyota?

"It is going through a rough period at present as the Pontiac line is gone, taking a large % of the business. NUMMI is rumored to be closing in March and we are in downsizing and utter survival mode while in Limbo about the future."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Provide a secure place to work, in line with Toyota principles although it is fair to say that Toyota does not always do as they say. Mentor and promote people to allow them to grow professionally. Be straight with people. A pension would be a good end to a life of service to Injex."
