TNT Dental Employee

"I've worked for TNT Dental for 2 years at this point, and can honestly say that it has potential to be a great place to work, but sadly mismanagement and a reluctance to change threaten to keep TNT behind the competition, which continues to advance while we continue using obsolete software, have almost no accountability(especially among management) and severe conflict of interests exist between employees and the people they are supposed to report to. One of the people in company leadership is the daughter of the HR lady/office manager, if that tells you anything. There's no real methods being used here, and everything is done by the seat of your pants. The company is co-owned among 3 people, one of which is constantly in meetings to the point where he can't keep other meetings he already has planned because he overextends his time. Micromanagement is the norm, and the entire development staff has no solid leadership to turn to for guidance. Company leadership is utterly inconsiderate of their team's time, and it's unpaid overtime is constantly either expected(without stating so) or asked for at the last second. There are positive aspects of this company, but working as a developer for them has proven challenging and I fear the longer I stay here, the worse off my career is. My learning and growth has stagnated or at least significantly slowed. Also, the salaries are not competitive, and don't even come close to the average salary that a similar role is paid in other companies in the area. TNT is also not transparent about internal practices, and downright incompetent when it comes to coordinating anything between teams. I wish I could say I was just a salty employee, but sadly, all of these concerns are legitimate. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend TNT as an employer if you are in the software/web development field. This is just my subjective experience thus far, and someone else's story may be totally different depending on their position here."

Writer

"An ignorant editor."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't do it. I was asked to attend a day-long training session at my own expense, was given an assignment, and completed it on time. The promised compensation was $250. I got $100. The editor doesn't understand either the Internet or the English language. During the training session, she said she loses most of the writers she takes on and told a story of giving an assignment to one, not receiving anything, and when contacted, the writer merely said I don't want to work for you anymore. No competent writer would."

What don't you like about working at TNT Dental?

"Everything."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire an editor who knows something."
