"Many of the employees working there were just fired because they refused to sign a gagging contract disguised as a confidentiality and non disclosure agreement. I have heard they were not even given a termination letter but summarily discharged without a layoff package. Stay away!!"

"I have worked with this company for last eight and half years and Company is good and work environment was good. Recent past inexperience co-workers (full time employees) making environment unpleasant due to lake of technical and ethical skill. Management team need to change the view point toward CWs and manage team evenly including work load and achievements. Now days, environment and motivation are base on only relationship with management and ignoring tech skill, knowledge, achievements."

"Great company to work for with work life balance and benefits. The company is driving to improve their technology. The only downside is the compensation as it is not at market."

What do you like about working at TIAA-CREF?

"Good benefits if you can put up with the politics and maneuvering of directors/managers for control. There is way too much of that in this company. Some of the people are super smart and really want to do the right thing for the participant."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be open for change but watch your back, trust no one in what they communicate, even your own manager (they are probably receiving inaccurate/false information). Everyone is just out to keeping their job in this economy and habitually throw moral conflicts (or known dishonest behavior) to the side."

What don't you like about working at TIAA-CREF?

"The message is always to work for the customer end result but that is not what is occurring. The attempt to break down 'silos of operation' is just creating new silos. If you honestly want to 'do your job' or work for the overall result of customer satisfaction, be ready for a disappointment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management should be checking with HR on past reporting when determining how to organize areas. HR should look closer at how management is bringing in new hires from their previous 'work buddies'."

"Saddened by degradation of once-fine company."

What do you like about working at TIAA-CREF?

"No longer there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stabilize the workforce. Pay more attention to employee concerns about poor levels of service. Employees are reluctant to be honest because they fear losing their jobs."
