4.1 I worked for Thorlabs for 5 years, being acquired in 2015. During the COVID crisis, Thorlabs was forced to furlough 75% of their employees. At that time, I was told that I would not be called back due to their desire to promote someone else in the organization.

4 This company is a good platform to start an entry-level job as an electro-optic engineer but career-wise this is not the best place to be.

3.5 I’ve been with Thorlabs for 6+ years. To a great extent, you get out of it as much as you put in. The work is interesting, fast paced and, rewarding but one bad decision could cause projects to spiral out of control.
