"I have worked at TG for the past 5 years as an employee and the location and the ease of acccss to the building is great! The people are great, there is good worklife balance here. TG beleives in the SCRUM agile framework and does a good job of allowing the teams to work in the framework. Business model for the company is bleak, with dependence on federal government contracts for now. There is some hope for future business development but it is not clear if it will happen!"

"It was good while it lasted, although never quite excellent"

What do you like about working at Texas Guaranteed?

"Again, prior to the end of FFELP, TG was a leader in the student loan industry. I was always proud of our standing in that industry."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you do not currently know what FISMA means (as well as what it entails), you should definitely find out."

What don't you like about working at Texas Guaranteed?

"The end FFELP was not necessarily the beginning, but certainly the rapid onset of market instability, as pertains to privately originated student loans. Every work place has its politics, and TG was not exception. Whereas I was willing to take calculated risks for TG, the recent pattern of layoffs suggests that TG is unwilling to take calculated risks for its Employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get to know your people better, not for the purpose of being invasive or overbearing, but so that you can better understand and meet the needs of your Team Members. In turn, I am confident that you will build a stronger Team."
