"Really interesting place to work. Lots of cutting edge technology and new challenges."
"Tektronix is a great company to start out!"
"I've worked for Tektronix for 17 years, it is a good company when direction is right. Now it seems that management is focusing on some details but could not get the big direction. Co-workers are great, lower management is trying hard to deal with market change, but not quite successful."
"I worked at TEK for 7 years though the Danaher acquisition. Although the acquisition probably saved the company, Danaher's aggressive policies are not as applicable to all manufacturing business models as they might think. Danaher bases their business on the Toyota Way. Tektronix builds Ferraris!"
"I worked at Tektronix for about a year obtaining sales leads from current and prospective customers."
"I have been an intern here since late 24 June, 2013 and have mostly good things to say about working at Tektronix. The environment is very inviting and the work is interesting."
What do you like about working at Tektronix?
"I really enjoyed the people I worked with and for. My supervisor John Tony was a great guy to work for. I dont think Ill ever have a better manager than him. My co-workers were equally as awesome. The job was challenging and I learned lots of things about Test & Measurement equipment. The money was decent and I am saddened that due to forces outside of my control, I was one of several people laid off."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Tektronix is a great company to get started in to gain experience. If you are looking for job stability, this is not the place to be. Every quarter they lay people off. Other than that, its a great place to work. The people are nice and helpful."
What don't you like about working at Tektronix?
"The most difficult part of working at Tektronix was seeing the after-effect of the Danaher acquisition. In 2007, Danaher purchased Tektronix. Things changed for many of the employees who had been working there for years. Less money was spent on innovation and Tektronix began losing much of the market share that they had historically dominated. Even though I joined in 2010, many employees still gripe about the takeover. The worst thing was seeing how many long-term employees have been let go due to cuts. I eventually became one who was cut too."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Tektronix is losing their historical dominance of the market. The Danaher model of growth through attrition is not a sustainable business model and at some point its going to crack. A company cannot survive unless it is technologically equivalent to its competition. We had lost sales because the competition is better in our customers eyes. Invest in innovation and that market share can return. Continue down the path of growth through attrition and the company will fail."

What do you like about working at Tektronix?
"After being recruited as a fresh graduate only to be laid off with my whole group, my total time of 4 months there got me the chance to learn how brutal and inconsiderate a company can be, and I learned to be extra careful with my later career choice -- that's the only positive experience I got at Tektronix."
