"STR is a defense company comprised of researchers and engineers with their PhDs, masters, and bachelors. The company painfully lacks diversity. The compensation is slightly below average for the area. Senior staff is not receptive to feedback and aggressively backlashes for even asking basic clarifying questions. Because of the nature of the work, people are not interested in talking openly about their work. If you do not have clearance, you will be excluded from team meetings, which can mean being there for years and often being isolated from your team. The office space is also not conducive to collaboration. Often your officemate will be someone random from another team. The office itself is bland and uninteresting. Management also does not care about work-life separation, and de-prioritizes mental health and employee satisfaction. All teams are under-staffed and the company lacks the proper resources, tools, and best practices to get work done efficiently. Generally, the company does not seem to be going anywhere."
