"no communication with management, bad management, doesn't treat consultants well, false promises to consultants."

"listen and understand empployees, especially consultants. do not promise the consultants extension with contract before you are happy with their performance. treat consultants as experinced engineers and not idiots"

"Lots of employees really believe in the mission of Nationwide and make it their personal goal to do right by the customers."

What don't you like about working at Nationwide Insurance?

"Many IT employees have been there for 20-30 years. They figured out the best way to do certain functions in 1907 (it seems like) and, by golly, they don't see any need to change them now! Also, IT is very siloed and departments are protective of their territory."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Require 5% layoffs once a year. This will get rid of the deadwood and make room to hire new innovators."
