"The majority of the staff are overworked and underpaid."

What do you like about working at Suttell & Hammer?

"The opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the legal field."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The hiring process is very lax, they effectively sell the company to the interviewee as opposed to the other way around."

What don't you like about working at Suttell & Hammer?

"Employees are pressured not to take breaks, as management is only concerned with productivity. Speaking with co-workers is not advised. Cell phone use, even in the bathroom, is strictly prohibited. Vacation hours are earned each pay period, making it difficult to take multiple days off in a row. If the office closes for some reason they will automatically use this time as pay. Video cameras are positioned all over the firm and are routed to several peoples computers. Mistakes are made at the expense of defendants, due to the systemic lack of formal training and the constant stress to increase output. With no HR department established, those who attempt to communicate an area of concern are routinely fired, ignored or belittled. Many of the low level supervisors are promoted for criticizing others behind closed doors. These circumstances, in addition to random without cause terminations, result in an extremely high level of turnover. Most of the firm's 60+ employees are under the age of 25, seemingly because they are inexperienced and therefore more readily conditioned to this kind of environment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Value, respect, and understand the needs of your employees. Happy hours once a month are no substitution for professional decency."
