"People there were smart and always advancing to learn the industry to be on top and stay on top."
What do you like about working at Superior Industries International?
"Everything. I worked with R&D and we were nicknamed the Dream Team because we had a $2M budget, which I managed, and we had all the tools and technology to do our research. All my supervisors and SVP were amazing."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"A great place to work but all that is left of HQ is very small."
What don't you like about working at Superior Industries International?
"The company sold and closed all American plants and they were not part of the wheel competition moving their manufacturing to China. Went from No 1 to nothing."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"There is still room to grow in the international market with the three Mexico plants and the one in Hungary which my boss ran."
"Superior was one of the best places to learn and grow as a true professional. I was allowed all the tools and software needed to grow my department with true professionals."
What do you like about working at Superior Industries International?
"I enjoyed the large responsibilities allowed to me in managing $2M projects while meeting deadline and yearly budgets. I learned Photosop and perfected PowerPoint as well as an introduction to ProjectManager. I loved working in Research and Development along side the meanest boss but to me he was a sweet and thoughtful man. I enjoyed their trust and faith in my ability to take on any project."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Know that this company only has HQ in Van Nuys and it will not ever again grow to be the leader as the #1 wheel manufactuter in North America. The future is not certain but if you are lucky to come in for accounting or supply purchasing, then you will enjoy a company with no debt, a staff that treats you like family and the American experience our parents had back when they had stable jobs they retired from."
What don't you like about working at Superior Industries International?
"The company started closing departments and plants. R&D was the first to go. I know the closing my department was a big mistake since the future of wheel manufacting needed R&D to compete in the auto industry. In the end China won our contracts and our clients abandoned American made product."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Unless the company plans to close all doors permanently, do not eliminate R&D because that is what will save a company."
