"I worked for SPS for 10+ years. Really enjoyed many of my colleagues but never was too impressed with the Senior Leadership team. Poor communication, silos across teams, not enough focus on career development of individual contributors."
"Not a very good place to work, I would not recommended it to anyone looking at considering an offer from them. Sorry, but it is the honest truth, which you may not hear very often."
"It is a great company to work for. It has its own challenges but I learned new skills at this company. Due to nature of business challenges, our company is trying to invent and see how to reposition in the market. There is strong desire to be successful within the company and we hope it is able to deliver."
"My experience with Sungard AS was more on the learning side. Learnt lots of new technologies and it was great...!!"
"The firm is essentially a conglomeration of many small firms acquired throughout the years; consequently there is a tremendous silo effect within the firm. Consequently there seems to be a diminishing focus on the client but an ever-increasing amount of internal power struggles. The CEO has not helped the situation. That being said, management does provide a good on-site working environment and the staff is mostly composed of smart, very professional people."
"I have worked for SunGard nearly 6 years now. Though coming into this company green, I have become an SME in the EXP Macess application and ancillary services including reporting, migrations, system configuration, workflow mapping, and administration. I've enjoyed my tenure and have excelled, but would like another opportunity for growth in the System Analyst field."
"As employees we have very little ability to provide input into the direction of the company. Management operates in a vacuum, completely cut off from front line employees and customers they are trying to provide solutions to. Some of the decisions that have been made in the past 2 years have just made our ability to succeed worse, with customers openly starting to question our commitment to the solutions we have sold them, and several walking away to find a better vendor."
"Not enough room for upward mobility, no-frills work environment, no career mentoring from what I could see, decent health plan, liberal telecommuting policy, at least in my division, significant offshore development presence, bonuses low if existent at all.If you are a process person, this is the place for you. If you are an innovator, you will find scant company here. Corporate leadership has taken great strides to improve the company's relationship with its employees."
"SunGard is bent on maintaining an India based support presence despite the problems it has, and is causing. High turnover coupled with the inability to think outside the box leaves the US team to pull the weight. Current numbers show that the US team handles more issues with less members, yet management is either blind or refuses to admit this fact. Despite all of this I will admit that compensation is outstanding, but no matter how good compensation is it does not outweigh the current issues."
"Excellent job until they decided to destroy the software product in which they'd invested millions of dollars and then let go the sales team."
