"I don't think there was anything that I didn't enjoy."

"Simply put, I wish I didn't get laid off from Sunlife"

"I did like it until new management came in, destroyed the culture and fired everyone."

"AVOID AVOID AVOID. There will be more layoffs in the future. Count on it."

What don't you like about working at Sun Life Financial?

"I worked here over five years and loved it until the end of 2008. Then new management came in and destroyed the culture. They downsized hundreds and brought in their cronies from the last company. They tried to run it like the last company. That, and the bad economy, killed Sun Life Financial. The new CEO in Canada finally cut the lossses and killed the Annutiy and Life divisions, laying off half the staff. Now they're trying to just do group insurance without a health or retirement component. More layoffs are coming."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Thanks for destroying the U.S. business. Thanks for laying off hundreds and destroying their lives and jobs. You ignored us since you showed up in 2008, so while I would say listen to your employees, you won't."

"I like the emphasis on community involvement and work/life balance. The benis were better than most U.S. based companies."

"Do your homework on the company!"

What don't you like about working at Sun Life Financial?

"Upper management seemed to be directionless too often. It didn't surprise me that months after I left there was a complete change of top management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It's new management since I was there, but I would just recommend eliminating the, promotion because you've been here, philosophy and begin promoting people based on merit because they have the people skills required to lead others."
