Working at Stifel Marcin in Glastonbury, CT: 1 Employee Reviews

Stifel Marcin Employee

"Be prepared for an unrealistic workload with minimal support. This agency is disorganized in processes along with bad management practices. If you are a marketing or creative professional, there is no collaboration with clients or departments. This agency outlines impractical expectations to their small list of clients, and the role of employees is to deliver no matter how improbable they may be based on data. Micromanagement is the culture within this company and berating employees when things do not go their way. I have seen creative professionals spend late-nights under the direction of the owners on how they envision creativity, stifling for sure. I too have spent late-evening with the project manager to deliver impromptu reports and proposals that the owners have demanded. Do not expect a “thank you” from them for it because it is just expected. The project manager does not have a background in project management or digital and you will be constantly repeating yourself from the questions they ask, which was constantly annoying. Be guarded with the project manager because they are in constant contact with the owners about employees. Processes and reporting are antiquated because the owners do not invest in modern technologies to streamline either. There is no professional growth or support of it unless you are driven to do so yourself. There is no additional compensation if you do acquire additional skill sets that would benefit them or their clients. There is constant turnover and there will be more turnover with this agency. They just do not know it yet. You will hear numerous empty promises and reasons why they want you on the team. During your interview, you need to ask them this, “why is there so much turnover here?” I would suggest you process their response and examine reviews carefully. As with their clients, I was deceived by their promises. However, I decided to leave on my own accord to escape."
