"Stewart systems is located in Plano Texas. For the 12 month I worked for them it helped me grow in knowledge, and it was an interactive institution where everything is all about division of labors."

What do you like about working at Stewart Enterprises?

"Most of my co-workers are kind people who genuinely care about families and work very well together as a team."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Negotiate hard for your salary at the beginning, because your raises will not be in line with inflation. Like what you're doing, be a control freak, and understand that you will be punished for stepping out of line with the company's expectations."

What don't you like about working at Stewart Enterprises?

"1% annual raise. High-performing employees are punished for going against the grain. Lazy, useless employees are left alone. Cruel, nasty employees are allowed to continue. Inordinate level of responsibility placed on one level of employees. Sales culture creates cat-fighting and apathy towards non-sales family interactions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The board would be comprised of funeral professionals and people who have worked their way up from the bottom. There would be a retirement plan and benefits for employee loyalty. There would be raises commensurate with inflation and job performance instead of the least amount possible in order to increase profits. Administrative staff would be pared down to extremely well-paid individuals who can genuinely contribute to the success of the company. Reporting would be streamlined so managers can spend more time with their staff and less time data-gathering."

Stewart Enterprises Employee

"Watching the wheels fall off the cart!"

What do you like about working at Stewart Enterprises?

"Decent benefits. Nice facilities."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The industry has gone from caring family owned facilities to large greed induced beasts. Their greed is coming back to bite them by virtue of the amount of cases going cremation. Pre-need has only brought short term help to the bottom line and will ultimately hurt the industry without question.Be very weary about entering this industry at any level. Long term survival for most funeral homes is shaky at best due to cost of funerals and having to honor older pre-need contracts which go at need.It is very sad to see what has happened to the business and it is an industry-wide issue... not particular to one corporation.... fairly poor job security in the long run unless you enter the cremation side of it."

What don't you like about working at Stewart Enterprises?

"Way too top heavy in upper management... and too much nepotism in upper management. Corporate too concerned with making all facilities homogeneous without taking into account individual markets. Too concerned with everything but the front line. Unless you are upper management, you would do better money wise working for McDonald's with far less stress and pressure from management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Upper management needs to learn to back their employees. MiamI market especially, unless you enjoy working in a hat full of vipers."

Area Sales Executive

"Not a communicative company."
