"I work for Stella&Dot where the company’s mission is to empower women earn a living and still live their normal lives. The company is in direct selling in fashion accessories, make-up, and skin care. The benefits are above average including flexible time, 401k matching, and company paid insurance."
"I worked at Stella & Dot for nearly 3 years and aside from some awesome coworkers that I have become lifelong friends with, I have little to nothing to show for it. I love what the company stands for, as they are leaders in women empowerment and the all woman initiative. It gives women who are full time mothers the opportunity to work from home and earn an income in the hours they choose to. The company is glamorous and beautiful, but only from the outside; the managers are mostly catty inexperienced workers while leadership continues to change every quarter. The technology being used is out of date and being managed by a team of 4. In general, the company has not been doing well for a couple years now and is unfortunately not making the significant changes that it needs to in order to right the ship."
"It was a good engineering department to work in and a very good location."
"Worked for Stella & Dot for over a year. Smart engineering team. Pay is below scale and in a bad location that does not inspire talent to join. Extremely difficult to get candidates to join."
"Good team, although in flux with some negatives."
What do you like about working at Stella & Dot?
"Low stress very open to suggestions from every level. The team of engineers is very senior and allows for heated debate on implementation with minimal sensitivity in the process."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Come prepared to answer technical questions. If you're a software engineer or QA engineer, be someone who has people skills outside of the realm of say, World of Warcraft. You need to be personable and easy to talk to."
What don't you like about working at Stella & Dot?
"Changes that greatly effect the work-from-home ability of engineers. Large reluctance to lower dependance on third-party SAAS."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Don't make wide-spread work policy changes based on a few bad apples. Address those bad apples directly and focus less on coming up with a fair change for all."
