"Stater brothers is a place where everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up. If you are just starting out as a courtesy clerk and can’t stop complaining then you will stay at the bottom if you are a courtesy clerk and have a hectic school schedule then you will stay at the bottom, if you are a courtesy clerk, and show up in a bad mood, aren’t nice to the customers, and slow venue will stay at the bottom. If you are willing to learn, if you are flexible in your days and hours, if you have a good attitude , then you might drive there. The pay is low, but the races are consistent depending on how long you’ve worked there. Depending on the store manager, your experience at Stater Brothers can vary wildly. The health insurance is great, you’re part of a union, you get your vacation pay upfront and taking time off isn’t a problem . There is a strict dress code that you must adhere to. Stay out of personal drama and you will do just fine."
"I unfortunately only had a chance to work for STATER BROS MARKETS for 4 months due to a mass lay off during this world pandemic. The company has a very strong infrastructure and Service department. It is run strictly making sure monthly maintenances are met along with services."
"I've worked for Stater Bros for over 4 years. Staters is a very stable company with great benefits and is great for a person looking for a lifetime job. This is a very conservative company with strict rules and a successful employee will need to be able to adapt."
"Stater Bros. is a family business and is out to keep their prices low at their stores. So a lot of the business runs on keeping things "cheap" which mean that if you are employed here that you are being bought at a cheap value. The room for improvement and growth here is very minimal. There is not a whole lot of opportunity to get promoted as an individual, and also to learn some new technologies to benefit the company. The company is very conservative and likes to be "safe." So, there will not be a lot of modernization here. You will find however, strong job security and the people are very kind here as well. Like I said, they are all about family here!"
"To put it kindly, Stater Bros. is a big fan of the 1950s. If you are ready to work in an environment with a strict dress code, almost no minorities, including women, a single monitor, cubical checks, and Windows XP, then this is the place for you. The company's dress code is so strict that they forced an employee in a leg cast, to cover their foot and cast with a sock because showing your toes is a no-no. They literally sent the employee home to get a sock."
"I have worked with Stater Bros markets for 25 years. Then are a retail company that fights technology. I wish this was a better job because I like what I do. Hear it's more about who you are than what you can do or help the company. Stater Bros. is a good company and have really good people working for the company."
