"I have worked in the private sector for many years before coming to the State of Utah. This department is one of the worst organizations I have ever seen. Very dysfunctional and controlling directors with no outside experience. People are great at the worker level but do not push for excellence."

"The work is good and the pay is slightly below average, unless you're a contractor. The major benefits are it is a stable position and you are surrounded by good people. The down side is, it's state government - good ole boy network, they don't want to solve the problem, they want to make it so they look good. Upper management doesn't care about you, they only care if their initiatives appear successful, and they surround themselves with 'yes-men'."
