"Working for the state has been very fulfilling and rewarding. The only downfall I have found is advancing is difficult due to the size of South Dakota. There aren't as many positions as some other states, which makes moving up and advancing harder I think; it's rare to see positions open that are more than entry level, and you really need to know the right people to move up, which can be hard."
