Working at State Center Community College District in Fresno, CA: 1 Employee Reviews

State Center Community College District Employee

"Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

What do you like about working at State Center Community College District?

"Relative job security and excellent benefits. The culture strangely encourages one to finish, continue, and enhance educational goals."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not assume that you will be asked to answer questions concerning the typical duties you will perform in your first job. This is a political culture. You may be evaluated on the managers ability to manipulate you on the job as well as your skills and abilities. Just a thought."

What don't you like about working at State Center Community College District?

"Mostly incompetent management. Management general lack of respect and support for its human resources. Management arrogance. More show than go. Too many meetings that last much too long. Rumor mill. Organizational politics. When all is said and done, there is more said than done."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Grow down. Truely put students first in your decision making. Respect your people on the front lines. They are the true experts. The rank and file knows what it takes to get the job right the first time most every time. Thank them for their commitment, knowledge, experience, and putting up with you."
