"I worked at SSI Techologies, LLC from 2015 to 2020. During that time, the company experienced exponential growth only for the private owner to sell the company to a public firm at the end of 2018. When it was a private company, the company focused not just on sales but on efficiencies as well as quality. The management team wanted to sell a quality product and were not as concerned about profits as they were about quality spills and warranty claims. After the sale, the focus because solely on sales, to the detriment of quality. The pace at the company became unmanageable and turnover increased as salaried employees started working 60+ hour work weeks. Meanwhile, management refused to increase direct labor pay to allow them to become competitive with other companies in the area. Turnover at the direct labor level averaged 85 percent for the past three years, and management refused to do anything about it because they focused on profit only. Management would lie about future sales to the CEO in order to look better and avoid difficult discussions. The atmosphere became toxic and the pace untenable."
