"Management represents a security risk."

What do you like about working at Square Enix?

"Overall the people that work at Square Enix have similar interests so it is easy to find people that like the same things, read the same types of books, etc.... If you are a fanboy/ fangirl, gamer, anime watcher, etc... you can pretty much find anything you like. Work environment is laid back and most of the company is cordial."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ideally it is recommended that you love videogames, love Square Enix, and love working with computers."

What don't you like about working at Square Enix?

"Unfortunately in a work environment characterized by an industry that has never grown up, it is easy to find the place in disarray. Employees leave their trash everywhere which piles up and soon begins to smell. It's generally assumed that when children are raised alone they keep their trash with them everywhere they go. It's easy to imagine that a good portion of the company finds comfort in the smell of rotting food and leaving their trash lying around. So in short work environment is unclean and may even present a fire hazard. I've also been caressed without permission by other males working in the department. Why a man reaching his 40's should have to be told to keep their hands to themselves is insane especially in 2013. Fraternization unfortunately leads to information about co-workers being leaked from lower management to the rest of departments with little concern for the integrity of the information being shared. This represents an unfortunately dilemma where privacy is held to a lower standard than most companies. Hiring has little to no rhyme or rhythm to it. Generally managers ensure that the people being hired have chemistry and work well together. Unfortunately, this is sorely overlooked. Important policy decisions are trickled down secretly behind closed doors and whispers. Management is abusive and represents a security risk for everyone working in the El Segundo office."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire adults or the company will have problems in no time."
