What do you like about working at South Coast Children's Society?

"Supervisors within the company (Specifically the TAY program) very flexible with regards to paid time off (intentional and unintentional), and there's ample opportunity to gain experience working with individuals with mental illness. Your work in a jeans and sneakers environment that's always active and at times even fun."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Emphasize your hands on experience working with individuals in crisis situations, and/or with individuals in a group home setting. Also, be extremely flexible with regards to your availability and convey a strong work ethic."

What don't you like about working at South Coast Children's Society?

"Communication across the company is a bit fragmented/disconected. Supervisors have one set of expectations that unfortunately very few employees were trained adequately enough to fulfill. You could work your behind off and get no recognition for your efforts, but as soon as you do anything undesirable, you're going to hear about it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Promote positive communication between everyone despite their title, and validate/recognize my employees' hard work instead of giving them recognition only when they do something undesirable."
