HR Manager
in Culver City, CA

"This is a company with creative geniuses and state of the art technology, however the company has the potential to become an even more stellar company."

What do you like about working at Sony Pictures?

"I had strong leaders and mentors who recognized my strengths and abilities and who also supported my growth and development throughout my tenure with the company."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Candidates interviewing for a job there should enter with an open mind and have patience. People tend to get caught up in time and are run by their work so remain confident and patient if your interview doesn't start on time. Stay connected and focused during your conversations and remember, this is your only time to sell yourself and show them you have the fit, skills and experience to get the job."

What don't you like about working at Sony Pictures?

"Interfacing with leaders and executives who were driven by high egos and exhibited abusive and tyrannical behaviors. These individuals thrive on instilling fear, limitation and lack and didn't empower those that worked for them."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I believe the company has progressed since I left over 10 years ago. I would suggest collecting data from employee surveys and exit interviews and focus on where the high incidents of turnover or employee relations interventions occur from a budget standpoint. After assessing the information and understanding the potential costs and liabilities for the company, then HR systems and programs can be put into place to create a company that fosters creativity, collaboration and employee engagement."
