"There was a huge opportunity for the company to start over and do things right on a big scale. But they filled upper management with all the wrong people, who never fully conceived what they were trying to build. They restarted more than once in almost random directions. In the end, product had a blast, while the engineers are mostly miserable, and as a result the product is mostly garbage. Finally, they've checked enough boxes to try to sell the company, so layoffs have begun."
