"First thing to note is the location is directly next to the airport, downtown, and the bay. The company has a solid teaching program for the young engineers starting their careers and welcomes feedback on what an engineer is interested in learning through their year. As of 2018, they have made a strong push for research into additive technology and further research into combustion systems for power generation."
"A good company to work good pay 401k ok benefits not good"
"I've worked for Solar Turbines for 4 years. Great friendly company with an emphasis on customer relations and employee safety."
"A great company that is a worldwide leader in gas and power turbines. They offer great room for growth in your career as well as the training need to achieve your goals."
"Is a great company for every engineer but software. Managers are mechanical without any poor software knowledge."
"Excellent place to work! Highly recommend!"
"Solar is a good company to work for if you are looking for "stable". There are a lot of very nice people here, and from an engineering perspective some very intelligent people. From the IT perspective however, there is a lot to be desired. The IT org for Solar suffers from stagnation in leadership. Too much process that adds little value, and really very little technical challenge. The room for growth is non-existent as there is too much job security for the non-technical leadership. If you are looking to end your career somewhere cushy, this may be for you. If you are looking to work with good technology and smart innovative people, and be as good as you can be personally, then look elsewhere. This company does not care about its IT services, to make any changes to it."
"Solar Turbines is an interesting place to work. There are many positions within the company and the large structure allows for procurement of the right tools to accomplish the job."
