"If you have no other choices, go for it."

What do you like about working at SocialRadius?

"Telecommuting was the only perk to this job, which is great for people who live far away. Employees are expected to use their own computers and phones. There is an office available (that no one ever uses) if you need quiet space to work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Nobody gets hired without an internship, so be prepared to work for a month and get $500."

What don't you like about working at SocialRadius?

"Management is not willing to listen to any new ideas. There is no job description provided ever- but if something doesn't get done be prepared to take the responsibility for it. Pay is ridiculously low. Basically $10 an hour, but since it's salary you could be making even less! It's clear there aren't that many positions available for full time hire, and the word around the water cooler is that promotions rarely happen. Insurance doesn't kick in until after 3 months- not counting that internship!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Pay your people if you expect them to work long hours . If you expect your employees to be formally educated and have experience, pay them a little more than the kids you hired from a Craigslist ad. Be crystal clear about what you want from employees. This was the first job I ever had with no formal description of what expectations management had. Also the owner seems very preoccupied with parties focused around conferences rather than the company itself."

"Good place to cut your teeth"

What do you like about working at SocialRadius?

"They gave me my 1st chance. Now I know what I do and do not want in future employers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This place is a good start if you're fresh out of school. Make sure you have an interest in tech (this firm specializes in High-Tech PR) or you'll be banging your head on the desk by the end of the day."

What don't you like about working at SocialRadius?

"Micromanagement is rampant. New ideas are not welcomed without struggle. Key team members do not like to be challenged in their knowledge. There seems to be a culture of shifting blame, and accountability is not encouraged."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to your team! They can bring new and exciting ideas to the table, they can lift you up out of the traditional rut. Give them some autonomy."

What do you like about working at SocialRadius?

"Collaboration is supposed to make things go more smoothly and more quickly. Unfortunately to my boss, collaboration means micromanagement. We are not allowed to make our own decisions or have any sort of autonomy. All emails must be pre-approved before sending (or the supervisor must be CC'ed on each and every one). Talk about not empowering your team!Perks include telecommuting. You can work anywhere you want (home, coffee shop, library, etc.) and we have an office available for our use as well, though it is rarely used. It is a strictly BYOD company though. You'll be working on your own computer, using your own phone, etc."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This job is a good stepping stone. It's a place to cut your teeth in the PR world. Make as many business contacts as you can so that if/when you leave you are able to bring them with you. This company specializes in high-tech and B2B PR, so make sure you have an interest in tech before applying."

What don't you like about working at SocialRadius?

"The micromanagement has got to stop. It's stifling to creativity. We had some interesting ideas, but they usually got shot down by the higher-ups (who are used to traditional/old fashioned PR)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I'd make sure my employees were trained well and were well compensated. The feeling we got is that since turnover is high, they will probably leave, so why train them The other problem is that wages are below industry average, and those willing to work those wages are kids straight out of school with zero experience. Which need to be trained anyway. Also, eating my own dog food. The term thought leader pops up frequently, and we would've liked to see some actual thought leadership. If the key members of the team are experts, why is it so difficult to pass their knowledge to the mid & entry level team"

"Good learning experience"

What do you like about working at SocialRadius?

"The online PR business allowed us to work from home, which was convenient. There was minimal training and supervision, which meant we had to learn a lot on our own."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This is a good first job if you need to hone your PR skills, but there's not enough growth within the company. There are really high turnover rates and the only decently-compensated employees are the executives who make 6 figures."

What don't you like about working at SocialRadius?

"We were compensated poorly (starting position required a college degree and paid in the 20's) and had to use our own computers, phones and Internet. The company only had one paid subscription to an online database, otherwise, we had to use all the free tools."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Properly compensate your employees to avoid high turnovers. Provide the resources necessary for the job and have a review system where you can listen to employee issues."
