"After being with the company for some time, downsizing happened; persons with understanding of positions within department were demoted/ laid off to provide a position for unneccesary former management possessing no skills for new position."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Appeciate the people that carry the company, and not the people that have coasted the longest."
