"Corporate policies one size fits all. Poor Sr. management planning on economic downturn. Lack of opportunities for business development efforts of Sr. Project staff"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Must take in to consideration changing local market conditions when setting profit goals. Review corporate overhead and company wide mandates as ways to improve profit margins. Get Sr, project personnel involved in Business Development not just VP's and Account managers"

"Ask about long term career planning, current backlog and business prospects. Job security is a concern right now."

"Lack of good communication both at local and national level. No cohesive plan for expanding and aggressively marketing new services in current environment."

"Need to re-think approach to marketing and securing new work. Profit goals should be suspended in favor of maintaining workload and keeping good employees"

"The experience of working in a joint venture was very challenging and difficult at times."

"Skanska listens really well to the client and their employees. Managers stayed well informed about current issues and resolve them quickly."

"During the interview express yourself as a team player and strong communicator."

"Felt like a country club culture. A persons skills and education were not as important as who you knew. Most of young talented employees were not challenged or counseled to futher their career."

"I liked having a job as 1 of only 2 electricians & since I only had 1 yr in I was chosen to be laid off"

"If they are an electrician I would say Once you finish a big job watch out because they may not need you anymore"

"Good salary if well negotiated up-front of course, but also the great professionals working in a team environment; as well as the ownership given to perfom well within one's department towards results."

"Make a good negotiation upfront and assure for how much time Skanska will be contracted with projects."

"After being busy with projects, projects were abandoned; promoted people were not given the corresponded new package; and deffinitely business development in the last 2 years."

"To establish good metrics to evaluate people and make growth paths in practice; do not abandon projects, don't put big salaried people if they are not needed for the organization."

"The empoyment position with Skanska was disheartening, as Project Engineers and Project Managers were not required to comply with basic GAAP requiements."
