Silverpop Employee

"I've worked at Silverpop since 2011; it has been an excellent place to work. The company has a strong culture of valuing work-life balance (flex time, work from home, etc.), the people are friendly, and the atmosphere positive. All that said, since the recent acquisition by IBM, the culture has been becoming more corporatized, with an increased focus on seemingly meaningless meetings and training. Additionally, the office location will be moving shortly, which was the final straw that broke the camel's back for me."

What do you like about working at Silverpop?

"The exciting nature of the work was great"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Go in with a strict understanding that you cannot work 14 - 17 hour days and weekends. Ask very direct questions and don't let the interviewer hedge on answers. Get the understanding and expectation up front. The company is known to say that was the interview this is reality when they hire in folks who find out that they have just lost their personal lives."

What don't you like about working at Silverpop?

"There is a sense of being out of control from the top down. The company does not have good top management in place to handle there growth and resorts to working people like slaves in order to be successful."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The company should really take a hard look at the top levels of management. They need a change there. Also, they are spending way too much money on several layers of management and not enough on the worker bees. There is a lot of fat in the management structure."
