"This was an international company which organizationally separated itself from its Canadian branches so that there was a US and Canadian company with severed affiliations. A few years ago I confirmed the Canadian company still existed but the US company was sold. The Canadian company or at least the branch I was affiliated with proved to be a better employer than the SF branch I joined later. The SF branch had extreme difficulties winning contracts eliminating career prospects unless you were interested in extensive travel."
