"Shapell is a place whenever I like to keep my head down, relax my throat, no need to use my brain and still can collect my paycheck every other Friday."

"Don't apply for any job with Shapell Homes unless you desperately need a dead end job!"

What don't you like about working at Shapell Homes?

"Heavy office politics. Managers steal your ideas, if they can't, they will find a way to get rid of you because you are threatening their positions since you are too smart. Common practice for Shapell to get rid of talented employees - push down to do lower priorities, no brainer works, telling you constantly that you are incapable to handle more complicated tasks, get you frustrated enough to look for jobs elsewhere."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"New leaders should be able to identify who are good managers, do not trust those older managers (25 years+ in Shapell) whatever they say. We were warned not to talk to the Board Members, CEO, CFO, nor any new upper management. Those older managers always promote whoever are incapable, non-opinionated, ass-kissing employees. They gang up together to protect each other, hide information in order to make themselves more valuable to the new upper management. Certain employees were pushed to leave the company when they had been found having conversations with CEO. They always try to give excuses to get rid of those smart, talented employees who voice and delicate themselves to improve production, minimize costs to increase profits. Unfortunately, those older managers simply take credits from their fellow employees' works and claim as theirs."
