What do you like about working at Suburban Propane?
"At the time I started (late 70's) it was very family oriented and everyone enjoyed the work atmosphere."

"Nothing comes to mind since it's been such a long time working for this newly organized public company."

"Can't think of anything accept I wish I had a mentor who would have allowed me to take on more responsibilities including getting into management."

"Mark Anton was the CEO of this family-owned business who eventually went public. Great human being"

"There is not too much that I can complain about."

"The management team is very smart; they already thought about everything, I believe."

"The team approach to solving applicaiton problems. IT and user groups work well together."

"Learn all the latest IT terminology, since that is what they are looking for and not so much in do you know how to use it."

"Corporate leaders read about a new process and they want to change the direction that business is being done without a clear understanding in what it take to get the job done."

"Listen to and support the ideas of those who are directly involved in the process that need to be adjusted."

"Good for a long time, then they hired wrong manager."
What do you like about working at Automotive Credit Corp.?
"Not a whole lot any longer. Currently, I like that we no longer are responsible for the hardware itself, that we have outsourced that responsibility to a third party vendor."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Yes. Until this company replaces several key members of the management staff, don't bother trying to get a job here."
What don't you like about working at Automotive Credit Corp.?
"We are all considered simply warm bodies that are interchangable with other warm bodies, without regard to our actual talents. Furthermore, managment doesn't understand how difficult our tasks are, expecting that all of our tasks will take a very short period of time, too short to actually accomplish the task, despite being told repeatedly that their deadlines are unrealistic, then they turn to external vendors, who tell them the same thing, and they hire the 3rd party vendors, at quadruple the price it would otherwise cost them."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Actually LISTEN to your information technology staff. When they tell you something will take 4 weeks to accomplish, don't ignore that timeline estimation simply because you don't like what you're hearing. We in the IT department tell you how long something will take, and we don't pad the answer. We tell you EXACTLY how long it will take. If you then reduce the amount of time you allow us to accomplish the task, you are effectively cutting us off at the knees."

"The technology used is quite good. Work place is quite friendly."

"No stability is there in the job. It doesn't matter how good you work."

"I don't have any suggestions for the management. Its their business."

"The supervisor of IDX has significant issues that make it difficult - to impossible - to get projects off the ground."
