Senior Resident Assistant at State University of New York
in Geneseo, NY

What do you like about working at State University of New York?

"They are focused on your development and not just the tasks at hand"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"For residence life, make sure you are ready to make a commitment. The job is a lot of work and you need to be dedicated to it. If you are, you'll love it and if not you will be very bad."

What don't you like about working at State University of New York?

"My current supervisor is too hands-off and approaches the job like he is your best friend. The job overall in Residence Life is labeled as a part time job but if you care about it, it is very easy to get absorbed and spend too many hours on certain things. A pro and con is that it changes even how you approach friendships, making you more responsible (ties you in!)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If I had my direct manager's job I would be more professional, be timely and a better listener."
