A marketing associate works closely with sales consultants and marketing and advertising general managers. During an average day at work, a marketing associate will help to create and develop new logos for business, create power points, and work on graphic arts or written text concepts to implement new marketing techniques for companies.
Skillset: Marketing associates must have a knack for business and must also be creative. Marketing associates are responsible for creating new company slogans, as well as jingles and advertising copy. This job requires an ability to think outside the box and a capacity to understand graphic arts and various computer software programs.
Education: Many marketing associates hold bachelor degrees in graphic arts, marketing or advertising. Completion of business management courses, web development, fine arts courses and business communications are recommended.
Career Path: A strong foundation for a marketing associate is built on a combination of creativity, formal graphic arts software training, knowledge of the Internet and an ability to identify and target a company’s primary marketing demographic. An understanding of statistics and courses in history of advertising are suggested.
