What do you like about working at SapientNitro?

"Technology Opportunity Salary Office Space Office Building Hours Location Organization"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask the people who are interviewing you how long they have been with the company. It's my understanding turn over can be high there. Then ask what accounts they have worked on and how those accounts stack up versus the others in the company. The person could seem on it but be assigned to the company's smallest account and only have worked there a month. Also talk to the traffic and scheduling person regularly - they can be your friend and advocate when things are tough. Cut through the fancy toys and ask real question about work / life balance. Ask multiple people the same question. If you are on a tour of the office, ask workers what they think. Then realize it has all been sugar coated. Carefully consider everything."

What don't you like about working at SapientNitro?

"Had no one to show me around my first day at work. Lots of blunders around setting me up. Was told by a senior project manager who had worked there for 6 years and worked on one of their large accounts that my ideas of work life balance were not realistic within the company even though I had been told they were during the hiring process. Company expected employees to obtain credit cards on their own credit to pay for business expenses and then be reimbursed. My CFO father-in-law says that's a little shady."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would encourage people to adhere to process and create healthy boundaries around their job functions. In a mature way, try to stop the trickle down effect of workplace problems. Client managers or Directors promising things out of turn should be their fault when the deadline is missed, not the developers."

Senior Interactive Developer at Motivation Technologies
in Webster Groves, MO

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"A sad exp. to watch a dept. fall apart because of a project manager."

What do you like about working at Motivation Technologies?

"Being the lead for a new dept. I found much enjoyment creating new systems and training new hires to work on them. There was always a need and the time to be creative, and think outside of the box, and I loved every minute of it."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't apply for a creative position. The rest of the company is awesome, and you'll be able to do your job and love it.There are a ton of great people and it's a really fun place to work.I am still sad I had to leave, I loved my job and my co-workers, while they were still there."

What don't you like about working at Motivation Technologies?

"Lack of appreciation for my skills by my direct supervisor, and their inability to properly manage a creative dept. Watching everything I worked for fall apart as each of my co-workers began to leave because of 1 project manager who did not understand how to respect people and let them do their jobs. And a CEO who cared more about bullying people than listening to their complaints."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Allow the designers to design, and the developers to develop.Do not stand over everyone's shoulder, and micro manage them because your job is slow.Do not allow an entire dept. to defect over 1 project manager. When that dept. had been doing fine for almost 2 years before that person was hired."
