"Great review especially for Rockwell Collins."
What do you like about working at Applied Micro Circuits?
"The responsibility for the most complex and advanced project at AMCC: the YunI Switch Fabric chipset and customer satisfaction. Responsibility for all aspects of the program: design, marketing, corporate customer interface/management, company priority. The most gratifying was that the project generated more income than any other project because the customer was committed and we executed."
What don't you like about working at Applied Micro Circuits?
"Didn't have a four-year degree at the time, which limited my title; unable to get director title without bachelor's degree, which I am completing with a 3.9 GPA. Also had to drive 58 miles each way, but had carpoolers that were good company. Great team and teamwork. Few excuses and lots of respect."

"There was a slow down in work, and I was the last one hired, and the director had to make a hard decision to let me go."
What do you like about working at Aeronautical Radio?
"Interesting work that made a difference for the good in this world. Plus world class people to work with -- the best."

"Make sure you thoroughly understand what you are getting into. Look hard before you leep."
What don't you like about working at Aeronautical Radio?
"The job security was terrible. I felt like there was little chance and/or room to succeed."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Work with your new hires to discover and utilize their strengths while developing and improving their areas that need it."

"Currently a fraction of it's size in 2001. May be looking for workers, but not deep in patents or IP."

"Stop lying to everyone and about everything."

"Intel can be a great place to work, but it can also be grueling at times, with expectations such that you should be constantly stretching yourself to grow in an extremely competitive, meritocratic environment."
What do you like about working at Intel?
"The hard work can pay handsomely in this meritocratic environment - the hardest workers are rewarded well."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be sure you're ready for high expectations about your output quality and ability to contribute broadly. Your sphere of influence is expected to grow every year, and you need to be an expert at influencing people and constantly exceeding the goals laid out for you. This is not an environment for everyone - overachievers only need apply."
What don't you like about working at Intel?
"Once you hit the threshold of being considered a major contributor, you'll forever be putting in 60+ hour weeks."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Correctly size teams and organizations - stop shipping jobs overseas just to lower the bottom line costs. It's not an effective way to make genuine progress. Managers are constantly chasing quality issues and lack of good progress with teams that are split across continents and cultures. It's definitely herding cats..."
