"Terrible company unprofessional and discriminates against the disabled and minorities. Management is unprofessional and hateful. Companies looking for security services should beware. Management at parkersburg wv is very unprofessional and discriminates. The management is sloppy and very hateful. Companies like prat and whitney should think about another security service before they become to involved with this company."

"Don't waste your life. This company is horrible I worked for 13 years. No writeup and was terminated for addressing how my manager was treating older officers which came to work and done their job. I was told my post was being eliminated go to main office to be resigned and the main office terminated me before I could start training for new job assignment. Saying I was a no call no show then switched to I violated companies policy."

"Security is generally a dead end insofar as I do not want to learn to carry a sidearm. That would be the next step necessary to advance in the company. However, if I carry a sidearm, I expect to have to use it, and I do not want to have to use a sidearm.Perhaps I should have been a defense attorneyI do this security work because it has flexible schedules and locations."

"I've worked with this company for 8 years and have not yet moved up into a favorable position. This is a job and not a career. Good for people who have retired or just to pay the bills while looking for real work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Wear a suit, it will get you an interview. Set your expectations to a reasonable level, this is a security officer job after all, and make the best of it. It could carry you to places you never imagined for yourself. Patience, hard work, and loyalty are rewarded. It is a company... It is a business. Either help it and yourself make money or don't even bother, find another job to work short term."

"Never got schedule sent for site, problems with management, lied to employees"

What do you like about working at Securitas?

"Uniforms were free, unity among officers was good, duties were fairly simple. Pay is low, but always depends on site and number of duties."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Interviews were laughable. They put all of us in a room and said we were hired and immediately did the training. If someone is looking for a career in security, do not go to this company. My site went through numerous guards and only one was fired with justifiable cause (he fell asleep) and there is almost no communication between management and employees. If someone is looking for a short time position, while looking for another job, this is fine, but other than that it is not a place one would want to start a career."

What don't you like about working at Securitas?

"Virtually no communication between management and employees, no schedule was ever sent to my site in 9 months, thus it was a constant chore to make sure someone didn't miss work and get in trouble, overtime was pretty much mandatory (you couldn't say no if they needed someone) If guard on next shift failed to show up previous guard had to cover (which is fine except we did 12 shifts) and worst of all there was constant lying from management and they would not investigate any claim and would just fire guards for A SINGLE complaint, whether it was a real complaint or not. They actually would lie to other guards whenever they abruptly fired someone and say that they quit. Job security is nil and it is not a great place to look to having a career. Retaliation also occurred due to screwups by the company, like say a schedule was not sent and they intended to switch around shifts that week. This happened twice and both times our site supervisor at the place said it was not our fault, yet Securitas retaliated against all of the guards by changing all of their shifts for a couple weeks, or sent them to sites 2 hours away when they never went that far. Talk to any guard that has been there awhile and they will speak of the company as not caring about its employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"DO NOT LIE TO YOUR EMPLOYEES ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!! Also, communication is the biggest ongoing problem. There is also constant fear from guards of losing their jobs due to the one complaint policy, which makes it seem like the company will not fairly treat their worker and any complaint is held against everyone."
