"Benefits of working within a small company, with a talented team, for a company president that leaked ideas and intelligence out of his ears. The innovation and freedom to explore potentially new areas of revenue, new ways of becoming more efficient, and contributing to the growth of a company. Grew my previous department management skills to bring out the best in my staff and enjoyed every minute of it. As a director, helped my senior management team become a known force in the ag industry."

What don't you like about working at Secure Media Products?

"The company over-loaded on over-promises from contracted sales professionals, and grew away from its core competencies. The owner became motivated by fear, instead of by confidence in his leaders, and had to alter the company's structure as a result. The company was sold far sooner than it had to be."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I was senior management. Suggestion to the owner would be to listen to those you've trusted to continue to guide you in the right direction. Long-term loyalty will win out over the promise of short-term profits, every time."
