"Worked for SDL for over 10 years, primarily in customer facing roles. Company has shifted away from technology and more toward services. So if you are interested in translation services, an excellent choice. If you are interested in technology, do your due diligence. Company treats employees very well and not very political environment, although more politics crept in during the past 5 years."
"Nice company, I have been working there for 3 years and satisfied with salary and work conditions."
"The SDL PS team is very smart and hardworking. they know their product and its related technologies better than anyone and have been providing excellent professional services work to their customers for year and will continue to do so into the future."
"I have worked with SDL for years... it is an unorganized place full with office politics. the only good thing is the people... some how SDL manage to bring a great group of people together but choose the worst managers."
"Too much process, too little agility - not a good formula in today's competitive marketplace"
What do you like about working at SDL?
"Learning about globalization solutions. My colleagues from Trados."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Qualify them like a prospect vets a prospective key vendor. Things may not be the same across all business units."
What don't you like about working at SDL?
"When I was there I could not believe that we had so many systems of record. Not to mention, that many basic decisions HAD to run through the CEO. This delayed deals, decisions and made for enormous frustration not just for us, but the prospects."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Learn to delegate. Trust that others have intelligence, experience and want what is best for the company. Or you'll lose top talent AND prospects who do not care to wait for you to get to them."
