"I enjoyed being to actually focus on the students, for the most part. I also liked the small district feel, after a year, you know everyone and everyone knows you."

"Most prospective teachers are not people of color, so, none of my issues may bother you.Just remember that the students bring more to the table than an opportunity for you to do local peace corps work."

What don't you like about working at Santa Clara Unified School District?

"Because it is so small, the old boys network and nepotism are in full force and opportunities for advancement seem to be based on who's next versus who's most qualified."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Make the pool of decision makers as diverse as the student population."
