"I would not recommend this company to anyone. The work environment is extremely toxic, the leadership is a joke, and there is no opportunity for growth. You will not be supported, you will be sidelined, and you will feel frustrated from the poor commutation for upper management. Since the new general manager arrived, the majorly of the senior managers have left and 10+ year veterans are leaving. This has led to many growing pains with these new managers. If you want to make money and enjoy your leaders, I recommend looking elsewhere."
"I've worked with HBC for 5 years and more specifically Saks for 1 year all in Assets Protection. Its a good place for AP as long as you have had experience in the field before. Little room for advancement and little opportunity for professional development. Most of the coworkers are great."
"As with most retail environments, there is an element of feeling like you're in middle school and this is no exception. Have a hangnail? Run to HR. Be aware of the compensation structure especially be aware of the million-dollar book members (even if they get there by standing in LV and ringing sales) because you will have half of your commissions stolen by unscrupulous and greedy co-workers. Also if you're in any way a conservative, turn around and run. You have a racist HR person who has for years had two sets of rules - one for blacks and one for everyone else and has screwed over so many people it isn't funny. GM only cares about meeting numbers regardless of how that happens. One of the results is that Saks has forgotten who they are."
"I’ve worked for Saks Fifth Avenue for the last 7 years. They have a wonderful corporate culture and offer excellent benefits."
"Easy to Apply. Description says great benefits and great location. Finger crossed."
"Great place to work and build a career. Many great leaders and people."
"My time at Saks was robust and informative. Like any retail company, there was a lot of change in a short amount of time including going private, consolidating floors on moving desks and of course the pandemic. The company handled it alright. I try to focus on my time at Saks before being furloughed. Smart, talented people work in corporate and I am grateful for the experience."
"I work for saks fifth avenue, very known retail store. I was looking to grow, also very nice co-workers."
"I've worked for Saks Fifth Avenue since 2018. It's a massive ten story luxury retailer on 5th avenue. This flagship store is continuing to expand and is renovating the entire store. Style Advisors salaries are all based off of their sales, it is a draw vs. commission environment."
"I've worked for Saks Off5TH for seven months and enjoy the autonomy of my position as General Manager. I have a great team that I enjoy leading on a daily basis. The only downside with the company is the systems that create issues in the daily operation of the store. The company is aware and working on this which will hopefully be resolved in the coming months. There are over 150 stores across the US and Canada in addition to online. Overall a great place to work."
