"Very simply, Rockler as a company is great. The management of the Rocklin store is questionable. The manager is moody each day he was there, the staff was uneasy wondering what mood he would be for that day. He would belittle staff in front of customers and other staff. Then for no reason reward you with a store gift card. The assistant manager would be afraid to act as a manager. The chain of command should be assistant manager, then if that failed then go to the manager. This assistant manager would not listen, telling me I don't want to get involved. I quit the job I enjoyed because I called in sick an hour and a half before my start time. The manager told me I was calling in too late and if I did not come to work I would be written up for being AWOL. Even though I contacted him. He told me there is a 3 hour window to call in if sick. The company guideline states an employee must call in as soon as is possible. I had a migraine headache and my eyes were blurry and it would have been unsafe to drive. Being very upset with the lack of concern for my well being I quit the following day. My manager seemed unconcerned and I left that day without giving a 2 week notice. This I really regret."
