"great research opportunity"
What do you like about working at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago?
"If you are into research, with a particular interest of being around and helping people who have been physically handicapped, then I would highly recommend working at RIC. The people there are very smart, and the environment heavily emphasises continued learning at every level."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be up front about physiological or research topics you may not be familiar with. Everyone is ignorant at some level - that's why we do research. However, no one likes a fake. Also, express interest in learning more about a particular topic if indeed you are. Intellectual curiosity is a core value of RIC research."
What don't you like about working at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago?
"While there is plenty of opportunity for intellectual development, there is very little opportunity for career development. Because RIC is a research facility, you will not be paid the same money as an industry job."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"RIC is a very well run research facility - Top management is visible to every level of personnel; money will be spent on research topics that have a capacity for societal impact; the RIC building is fantastic; and employees with varying religious/cultural beliefs or physical requirements are accommodated. My suggestion would be to keep up the good work."
