"The other employees were fantastic. They're fun, laid back, but still get the job done. They'll come back after their shift and hang out and drink with each other often. The hosts and servers and kitchen all get along and work together VERY well. But the owners are the managers. They are constantly there, watching and questioning everything you do. And that would be fine if they weren't trigger happy about firing or threatening to fire people. They will expect you to learn an entire menu and their selection of alcohol and mixers and suggestions within a few days. IF you can pass the test, you immediately start taking tables. There was no shadowing or teaching for most of us, just getting "thrown to the wolves." This could all be alright, as we new girls were surprisingly doing well, but the owner's wife threatened to fire most of us in our first week. She did not let us give explanation nor does she seem to actually understand that as a server you WILL have days when you get terrible tips. Within my first week she called me a terrible server, came in, got drunk and yelled at one of the other girls (which is apparently an often occurrence) and told most of us we would be fired if we didn't change our attitude (I saw zero problems with disrespect or not caring) The schedules are pretty firm and you can usually predict when you're working, but you'll have to compete for those hours with all the other girls going to college at the same time as you. I would also like to mention you pay $28 for your uniform - an okay amount for 2 shirts, some pens, a book for checks, and a small apron, but she will also take your entire first round of tips and say it goes to training supplies (an overhead cost she should have worked into the price of food) and you pay a "supply fee" that you tip out to EVERY shift plus you pay for food when people walk out on their tabs and you pay for anything you break. Please just save yourself the trouble. Do not work here."
