"I've worked here for 3 years. As a residential driver you WILL work hard. I was never afraid of hard work, when when you desire to be more than what you are, prepare for disappointment. You keep applying, but they keep hiring people off the street. Working hard for this company had led me nowhere. I'd rather go back to the brutal lifestyle to over the road driving than returning to this company. I had a passion for serving the customers, but management manages to screw it up with there reckless way of running the place. In fact. When you clock in, you are given an ear full of B.S. up to the time you clock out. There were only a few times when I felt good and one of them is when a customer stopped my truck just to tell us that me and my helper are awesome and good hard workers. It is always a good feeling after dealing with my management. It got to the point where I tell my self that I am here to please MY customers, not Republic's customers. If they did care about the customers, management wouldn't give the faces of the company such a hard time every day. In some location, mainly as you travel further from the west to the east, the residential trucks are unfit for the job. Everyday there is a breakdown guarantee. Maintenance will not fix things and wait till the co existing problem burst in flames, then point fingers claiming the driver did not do a proper pre trip inspection after the problem was written up for more than 3 weeks. Operations expect us to give 110% with under performing trucks. The breakdowns are radical and it is an embarrassment to service the customers with black smoke puffing out of the stack and leaking fluids everywhere and operations finds this acceptable. This rant can go on and on, but I won't let it."

"IT dept culture and morale has degraded to the lowest I have seen in a company of this size. The writing on the wall when a local headhunter posted an open position specifying an unnamed local company but stating the canned description that it was a really great place to work. This headhunter said that within 24 hours 4 developers including myself had called about leaving Republic for this new great place to work. All 3 developers on my team were looking to jump ship. CIO 2014 will be payback."
