"This company recently went through a RIF and removed nearly all personnel that had the responsibility for release management, packaging, and QA. The result was much of these tasks were distributed to development."

"Profit focus results in personnel and product decisions that are not best for long term health of the product."

"Learn the requirements of the product and what it takes to maintain and push it out before making sweeping cuts."
