"Direct Line possesses the potential for growth to competing internationally as one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. Recent company trends include an expanding Asian Pacific influence along with continued awarded contracts throughout the United States. The ten-year growth of the company reflects just how far it has come in the telecommunications industry. Do not overlook Direct Line as they are competing with IES and E2 Optics on the national stage here in the United States."
"This company doesn’t appreciate their employees, your quality of work and efficiency with your time doesn’t matter. They use you like cattle, as quickly as theirs a slow point they’ll find any reason to fire you. They don’t know how to train and utilize skill sets to develop the company. Theirs a ridiculous amount of bureaucracy and upper management acts overly superior and degrading."
"It is a good bank with good people, but the mistakes of the past result in high fines from different governments. Therefore, the bank cannot be profitable. There is also lots of old technology that is expensive to maintain but the bank does not find a way to retire the old tech. The bank has been trying for years to retire some old applications without any luck."
"Read the New Articles about RBS!"
"Competitive environment, had control over a single application by myself. Good learning path but too many hurdles to jump."
"I worked for RBS for 2 years and while compensation was pretty good, the environment on a daily basis was emotionally confining. Head down, don't talk, don't joke, work until the bell sounds. Some do really well there, but my manager did not appreciate me attempting to make our jobs any fun or enjoyable. There is no room for promotions or raises. They are promised at point of hire, but discouraged after that. Just be glad you have a job is what we were told often."
"RBS has a great work environment. I found the managers to be very professional and genuinely concerned with the development of their direct reports. Unfortunately the Bank's problems repaying its bailout from the UK government has led to many successive layoffs. Otherwise, a great place to work!"
