Sales Representative

What do you like about working at RadioShack?

"I received a lot of trust and confidence that I would get the job done and meet my days. The owner also trusted me with my opinions on how to deal with situations, allowing me the ability to work as I needed and how I was comfortable with my performance and needs."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure that you are strong-willed and push to do the jobs you are hired for. I was hired as a Direct TV installation specialist, but after being hired was stuck in the store. I guess I shouldn't have performed so well, and I might have been put in the field installing TV accounts, making more money. This happens though when you are working with employees who only know a few things about a store inventory."

What don't you like about working at RadioShack?

"Well, freedom is about the only good thing about it. However, I typically get shorted from fellow employees who don't particularly perform well and use longevity of employment for strength and defense. I don't like this because it is retail. Longevity doesn't earn seniority like it does in an office environment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If there was one thing that I would suggest to the owner, I would suggest that his priorities be evaluated based on performance and not how long someone has worked for him. So many people I know and work for on my own business come back to me asking questions about RadioShack because the other employees don't know their jobs or what something does, or sometimes what it is good for."
